Beef Jerky Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening coming Saturday

 The all-new, locally owned and operated Beef Jerky Outlet in downtown Hershey is celebrating its Grand Opening. The Hershey Partnership helps kick off the celebration, hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store on Thursday, October 18 at 4 p.m. The Grand Opening celebration kicks into high gear on Saturday, during Choctoberfest. In addition to the more than 100 varieties of jerky available, there are also gourmet snacks with a chocolate twist. There will also be multiple chances to win free jerky for a year. Owners Doug and Cindy Eby are both Pennsylvania natives. They have lived in the Hershey area for more than a decade, where they are raising their two teenage boys. Cindy maintains a career as a technical consultant for a pharmaceutical testing company. Doug, who spent two decades as the Regional Sales Manager for Sylvin Technologies, has finally realized his lifelong dream of becoming his own boss.

“Owning my own business has always been a goal for me,” says Eby. “I love the Hershey area, the people and the community. I can think of no other place I would want to start my first business. When the opportunity to open up in the new Hershey Towne Square was presented, we jumped on it.”

Eby is very involved in the community. He is the president of both the Lebanon Valley Youth Soccer League and the Annville-Cleona Youth Soccer Club. He coaches and is also a referee for local club level leagues, as well as area high school and junior high school soccer competitions. Eby’s passion for community involvement is a big part of what helped him decide on Beef Jerky Outlet as his first business.

“When my wife and I were looking at franchise opportunities, Beef Jerky Outlet really stood out to us,” says Eby. We really liked the management team and the community feeling they bring to the way they manage the business. We knew this was the right franchise for us and couldn’t wait to share that vibe with everyone here in Hershey.”
