History of Blues in America: Kids’ Edition

April 24, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The Hershey Public Library presents a Children Friends Program that is suitable for children ages 6 and older.

Presented by Joey Leone. Young people will find the History of the Blues in America show to be fun and informative, as Joey connects the history and style of early blues musicians and their unique word imagery, to the vernacular of hip-hop, top 40, and spoken word artists of today. The content of these different styles of music was and is still a way for people to connect with their audience while having fun. The Q&A afterwards is always energetic and full of positive energy. Kids leave with a better understanding of the origins of where their favorite music comes from, and often results in a new found interest to learn to play a musical instrument.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the library and is suitable for children ages 6 and older.
