“Staying Safe on Our Roads Today” Seminar

November 12, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Presented by Penn State Health in collaboration with the Derry Township Police Department.

During this 90 minute program, presenters will cover topics such as:

Driving then and now – exploring the differences in our vehicles and roads compared to when some of us first learned to drive
Distractions and impairments
Ways to be positive role models for our younger drivers
How to help our aging drivers
Changes and updates to our driving state laws

Also, as part of this seminar, participants will actually have the opportunity to utilize a driving simulator presented by the Pediatric Trauma and Injury Center of the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
This simulator is a “hands on” demonstration to fully understand the impact of distracted/impaired driving. The software was made available through a grant from The Association of Faculty and Friends of the hospital.

This program is open to any adult driver interested in learning ways to stay safe on our roads today. There is no fee but all persons must register to attend either online, or by calling the Library’s Circulation Desk at 533-6555. Registration begins October 12.

This program is co-sponsored by the Association of Faculty and Friends of the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and hosted by Penn State Health, Adult Trauma, Injury Prevention Program, in collaboration with Derry Township Police Department.
