What is Fracking?

October 13, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Come to the Hershey Public Library to learn about the controversial topic of hydraulic fracturing, better known as fracking. The sophisticated extraction process has opened up new sources of natural gas for energy use and has been welcomed by many. At the same time, it has come under fire by environmentalists and landowners for its impact on water quality and other aspects of the environment. Local author, Sherry Knowlton, will discuss the pros and cons of fracking and bring attendees up to date on its status in the Commonwealth. Please register online from September 13 for this adult library program, or call the library at 717-533-6555.
